Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. That provider processes the query and returns any result. Scotts Bluff County Court Docket does not keep a separate log or database of the terms entered into those tools.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If correspondence is sent to us, we may retain it to respond or address the matter raised. We do not share that correspondence outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, technical information about the visit may be collected, including:
- The IP address associated with the device
- The browser and browser version in use
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- The referring site, when available
- Date and time information for page views
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device that help show how visitors use the site, including page traffic and navigation patterns. Analytics providers may aggregate that information. A browser can be configured to block cookies, although some site features may then work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Operate, maintain, and improve the site's performance
- Route a submitted query to the relevant partner service
- Understand which resource pages visitors use
- Diagnose and address technical problems
- Display advertising that may be relevant to visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
This site does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of Scotts Bluff County court dockets or personal case information. It provides general directions to the County Court Clerk Magistrate, the Clerk of the District Court, and Nebraska's JUSTICE services. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports about other people.
Official court-record access is governed separately. Nebraska Court Rules Article 8 addresses public electronic court information, and Rule §2-215 generally allows inspection of public court files at the clerk terminal or State Law Library, subject to confidential, sealed, and otherwise restricted material.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search boxes on this site are operated by third parties. Information entered into them is governed by the provider's own privacy policy, retention practices, and sharing rules, which this site does not control. Review that provider's policy before entering information.
Links to Other Websites
This site links to official clerk pages, Nebraska Judicial Branch tools, and other outside resources. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination site's privacy policy applies. Read that policy before providing personal information there.
Advertising partners may track activity across websites to serve targeted advertisements. That activity occurs through their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Information may be available to:
- Search partners that process a query initiated through this site
- Analytics providers used to measure site traffic and performance
- Advertising networks that place advertisements on the site
- Government or law-enforcement authorities when a valid legal order requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use ordinary security practices intended to protect collected information. Internet transmission and storage cannot be made completely risk-free, so we cannot promise that a security incident will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If we learn that such information was provided, it will be removed as appropriate.
Your Data Rights
Where applicable law provides a right to access, correct, erase, or limit processing of personal information, a visitor may make that request. Those privacy requests are different from a request for an official court file. For a public court record, Neb. Rev. Stat. §84-712 provides the public-records framework, while the court-specific policy routes formal court requests to the State Court Administrator. Sealed adult records, juvenile records, and protected identifiers remain subject to restrictions such as Neb. Rev. Stat. §29-3523, Neb. Rev. Stat. §43-2,108.05, and Nebraska Court Rule §6-1524.
- Ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you
- Ask that inaccurate personal information be corrected
- Request deletion of personal information, where applicable
- Opt out of certain processing where applicable law provides that choice
Updates to This Policy
This policy may change from time to time. A revised version takes effect when posted on this page, so review it periodically for the current practices.
